BISP Budget Increased
Good news: The federal government has announced a major increase in the budget of the BISP. According to the details, Pakistan has informed the International Monetary Fund (IMF) about the increase in the budget of the Benazir Income Support Program. According to the report, Rs 716 billion will be allocated for the beneficiaries of the Benazir Income Support Program in the next fiscal year and the budget of the Benazir Income Support Program will be increased by 20 percent compared to the current fiscal year.
The amount will be increased for the beneficiaries of the Benazir Income Support Program from January 2026. A proposal has been made to increase the Quarterly payment from Rs 13,500 to Rs 14,500 from January next year. In addition, it has been said to increase the number of beneficiaries. There is good news for all those women who are not yet registered or have been declared ineligible that they can get their registration re-registered.

About 700,000 new families will be included in this program. First, 9.3 million women are receiving assistance from BISP. Remember, this is not yet confirmed. This report has been submitted to the IMF by the Government of Pakistan. If it is approved, then next year the beneficiaries will be given a lump sum payment of Rs. 14,500.

BISP Payment Increases to 14500
A key part of this proposal is the increase in the quarterly cash assistance provided under BISP. Currently, eligible families receive Rs. 13,500 every three months. From January 2026, this amount is expected to increase to Rs. 14,500, bringing much-needed financial relief amid rising inflation and economic challenges.
This proposed increase would directly benefit existing beneficiaries by improving their ability to meet basic household needs like food, healthcare, and education.

New Registration In BISP for 2026
Currently, over 9.3 million women receive assistance from the BISP. However, with this new proposal, the government plans to expand the program to include 700,000 additional families. This move would significantly widen the program’s reach and ensure that more deserving households, especially those previously left out, can benefit from government support.
BISP Re-Registration Opportunity for Ineligible Women
In addition to financial expansion, the government also aims to give a second chance to those women who were either not registered or declared ineligible during earlier surveys. If the proposal gets the green light, a re-registration drive will be launched, allowing more families to apply for BISP support.
This is excellent news for families that missed out earlier due to documentation issues, survey delays, or eligibility updates.
